Monday May 30th, 2011

Happy Memorial Day! Mom and I did go rummaging today and found a couple good deals. I got 6 new mugs for hot chocolate, but the sweet fancy kind like at IHOP, as well as a cake safe and a pair of swim trunks for Andrew and Logan. Mom got some clothes for Baby and a sweet surprise for Jen. Nick and I spent all afternoon at Grandma and Grandpa Parworth's and had a really good time. We played with Sommer, Logan, Marissa and Andrew and I beat him 4/4 times in bags. Unfortunately we never switched sides and I had my back to the sun all afternoon-not smart! Above is a picture of Andrew (Dark Blue Shirt) and Logan playing. They both turned one in March/April, and Logan is 6 weeks older but you would never guess it since Andrew is way bigger! Uncle Dan is a great grandpa, and Andrew is doing sooo well with his Cystic Fibrosis :)

Although its still early, Jenny and Mike finally told mom and dad they will be grandma and grandpa next January!!!!!:) They wrapped up a "thank you for helping us move" gift which was a little onezie that said gma and gpa love me. Then I brought down the gift I have been storing for years, waiting for this day! A baby badger gift set! Mom and I are hopefully going rummaging tomorrow for more good finds. If you can't tell by the last picture, I would dress the whole family in badger clothes if I could. KTB- if you are reading this- that's my dad ;)

Friday night after the Brewer Game I stayed at Nick's House and in the morning he dropped me off at Jenny and Mike's house so I could help them clean for their housewarming party that night. Jen and I left to go see "Something Borrowed" with Book Club, which was really good and makes me want to read all the books again. Then I finally went home and showered (yes for the first time in a few days) and made some more treats with the rest of the m&m's. Raj actually crawled over to me and Nick which never happens, but is a good sign since we are watching her and Sicily next weekend. The Party was a ton of fun, and me Nick and Mike got pretty drunk and out of hand. Nick and I spent the night on the new couch in their basement, and it was so comfortable! I tried to make up for our ridiculousness the next morning and cleaned up a bit while Jenny and Mike went to breakfast with his parents.

Friday seemed like the never ending day. I went to work at 6, Nick picked me up at 3 and we went straight to Dan's house to meet to drive down to Miller Park to start tailgating for the P and P party. He likes to be the first ones in the parking lot, so we usually start cracking the beers while waiting in line for the parking lots to open! This is the 3rd year Nick and I have gone and it was super fun, and I did not fall down any stairs this year, so also a success. Everyone loved my little treats and they were all gone. Obviously I'm still having a little trouble trying to figure out how to turn pictures, but I was really happy with that picture of me and Nick. The two guys are Dan and Brian who were my supervisors when I interned at P&P. The girl is Abby. She is their new intern and once we had a few beers in us it turned a bit competitive. She broke her foot and has a boot just like I did. We did beer bongs, played flip cup, took pics with people etc. Finally I posted a picture with another agent I worked with, Shannon, who everyone says we look like twins. Clearly they are smoking crack and stereotyping us for our blonde hair! Since we had a group of over 40 people and were sitting in the Beer Pen, we were suppose to get free t shirts but since we didn't make it into the game until 6th inning, they were all gone. Needless to say nick and I love our t shirts and were a bit upset. Long story short he therefore stole two shirts for us, nearly got caught, was questioned by the police and bought $80 worth of other stuff, like little pink brewer bears and bats. All in All it was a great night and I can't wait to go back next year with this crazy crew!

I didn't have to work today since my interview was at 11:30, so I of course spent all morning fretting about that. Since it was right by my dad's store in West Allis, I stopped by to see him. He took me into his office for the first time and I was a little jealous to see that there were no pictures of me, no pictures of Jenny, or my mom, just a wallet size photo of Raj and Sicily each (Jenny and Mike's Parents). I went home and told my mom we are getting him framed photos of us for Father's day! Then I had to beg Nick to go to a 50+ Family Rummage with me but by the time we got there they were all closing up :( All week I had been trying to figure out where I can buy M&M's by color around here. I know I saw a place recently but can't for the life of me remember where. The picture is of the treats I made to take to the Annual Probation and Parole Brewer Game on Friday. Don't get excited though, I never remembered where I saw the M&M's I ended up buying the big bags and sorting them out.

Happy Birthday Mandy! I talked to Hannah Wirkus today and reminded her to text Mandy and we will all hopefully have a Muskego High School Custodial Summer Help reunion soon! I spent way too long trying to pick out an outfit for a job interview on Thursday, and as a result, trashed my room, and learned that if I do get this job, I will need to replace basically my entire wardrobe.

Per usual, Tuesday night was spent at DJ's before the boy's softball game. I just went for the drinks and then ditched out and went to bed since the game was at 9PM! WOW we are getting old

Monday, May 23, 2011

Tonight I did nothing but sit in my bed, and here is the view into my closet. Anyone who knows me already understands that I like to be comfortable and therefore wear t-shirts often. But I just can't stand to get rid of any of them! They all are sentimental to me and have memories attached to them like high school dances, blood drives, concerts, CAC, Relay's, College Visits, soccer camps, etc. So, I thought I could make them into a quilt, however this is slightly ambitious given that I would have to 1. learn how to make a quilt and 2. obtain a sewing machine!

Sunday, May 22, 2010

Nick and I woke up and spent an hour deciding what to do today. We were super bored and had nothing we had to do. So we went to lunch with Brittany at TJI Fridays and had a few too many Long Island Ice Teas, browsed through TJ Maxx and went to Aquatics Unlimited (Fish Store). I think Brittany was amazed not only with how long we spent in the store but also with how much money we spent. We picked out three new chiclids, a crayfish, 2 algae eaters, a plant, and A NEW BLACK GHOSTKNIFE FISH!! We have been wanting one ever since my last one, Charlie, died when Nick's dad was fish-sitting when we went camping. His name is Casper, as in Casper the friendly ghostknife fish and seems to be adapting to his new home. The larger tank is Nick's and has several large fish in it who got freaked out by the red light on my camera and immediately hid. Mine is the smaller one with pink and purple rocks. I like to call them our his and her aquariums, although Nick takes care of them, and sometimes puts his fish in there when they are either getting beat up in the other tank, or being a bully, which I, and I'm sure my fish, don't appreciate much.

Saturday, I literally did not get out of bed until 4PM. I felt really sick Friday night, and my bloodsugar went low twice during the night! I finally woke up about 1PM and laid in bed watching old episodes of Grey's Anatomy. My mom came into my room and asked if I was going to get up anytime today, to which I answered, no. I did finally leave the house to go to dinner with Nick at Jenny and Mikes. They made this sausage and cheese baked inside bread dish that you put spaghetti sauce over and it was sooo good. After we watched "Revenge of the Nerds" (which is the non-chick flick version of Sydney White made several decades ago) we got into a lively game of monopoly and enjoyed not only homemade cappuccino in adorable glasses but one of the best desserts ever, seriously. It was molten lava cake they learned to make in Paris and was warm and gooey on the inside with a avocado, banana, orange juice sauce that goes on top with strawberries and raspberries. Clearly I was a little nervous about the green sauce and choose to put it on the side first. Several hours later Nick finally won monopoly with a whopping $58 million dollars--it was the electronic banking version. I hope this is a good sign for our financial future together!

Friday May 20, 2011

Tonight we decided to take advantage of what turned out to be not the last day of our lives but possibly the last day without rain for a week by playing a game of kickball at our Cookout at Casey's! Jessie and I went on a mission to all her neighbors until we found a suitable ball, however even that didn't help. The game didn't end well because as it turns out, our friends our wayyy too competitive. The "must have a drink in hand" rule probably didn't help either. Poor Scooter (Casey's dog) seems to have gotten the worst of it though, when Jes put the wiffle ball package on his tiny head.

Thursday May 19th, 2011

After work today Nick and I went to Eric and Renee's so that Renee could do our hair. The kids like to come down and play in the salon when we are there. Sommer (turns 3 in June) is all about hide and seek and Logan (turned one in March) just wants to do whatever his big sis does. Sommer stole my camera and actually turned out to be quite the photographer, although her subjects were not so photogenic. . .

Wednesday, May 18th

Today I also felt like a got a lot accomplished! I did some work on my career search this morning, called in my allergy medicine so that hopefully I won't wake up with a headache everyday anymore, called Muskego Park and Rec and registered for the hi-brow/ lo Brow cooking class this summer. So far only Jenny has registered, and I hope more book club friends sign up. I need to learn how to make more meals besides spaghetti. I think most of my fear of cooking comes from being afraid of not cooking the meat thoroughly and getting sick. Maybe if I tell Darlene (Nick's Mom) I'm taking this class she will get off my back about me not knowing how to cook. Although I can't complain too much about her because she left a gift certificate for a salon and spa in Milwaukee for me to get a massage because she knows I love them, and Nick is awful at back rubs, he ends up petting me like a dog! Anyways I used my newly purchased snap fitness membership today and Nick and I went to work out at the gym in Muskego. It was pretty awkward all around. Nick brought this whole huge backpack in and takes his workouts ubber serious, he wears a bandana around his head, special gym shoes, a sweatshirt with the hood up, a balance bracelet and his ipod, so it took him roughly 10 minutes to suit up once we got there, while I stood there waiting, not knowing what else to do. We started on the treadmill but I realized today that I haven't actually run since before my foot surgery, and way before that cuz it hurt so bad, so I walked quickly. Nick was annoyed with me when we left because "I don't work out right, since I wasn't sweating!" Maybe I'll start going by myself. However, I gained back all those burned calories at dinner with Jenny and Brittany at Texas Roadhouse. We went to see Bridesmaids after, which was pretty funny, although there were some scenes that made me feel really awkward/ uncomfortable/ sick, but I think its a to buy movie. I can't wait until my spotlight movie club coupon is good for Fast Five, I want to see it again asap. I realize my posts are getting longer and longer and this is turning into more of an online journal, but I've never actually journaled before, and am kind of enjoying it, we'll see how long it lasts :)

Tuesday May 17th

This is my last Tuesday off all Summer. Starting next week I go back to work full time. Today I thought it was actually going to be a bad day because when I opened the freezer (I was going to make hashbrowns- my favorite for breakfast) EVERYTHING was covered with frost. Someone must have left the freezer drawer open a crack. I immediately shut the door and settled for toast, there was no way I was going to deal with that. After I did my "mom errands" for the day (I went to library, bank, sent Kelli a package, and signed up for snap fitness) I ate some of my favorite mini ravioli for lunch and watched the secret life. It was amazing they only said the word "sex" 15-20 times, as oppose to the usual 100 per episode. KTB and I took her car to get the oil changed which was a trip, literally and figuratively since we had no idea what we were doing, and it was way up by Good Hope/ Brown Deer Road. After a Dinner Date at Noodles we went to the guys softball game. They got slaughtered but Darin's "friend" came and brought her dog, Lucky. He was a chiwawa shitzu mix and was so ugly he was cute, although also suicidal since he jumped off the bleachers! Sadly, no one wanted to go out after the game so KTB and I ran some more errands, which is where we encountered the 108 Pearl Jam cd's available for purchase at Target! Later we learned that Celebrity Cross word puzzles are harder than they look. . .

Monday, May 16th Exam Due!

I have the last online exam for my law class due at midnight tonight, so after work I finished this up, with a snack of red and white m&m's from Hannah's Party. Her aunt had them made, they said "Congrat's Hannah", had pictures of graduation caps and HAD PICTURES OF HER FACE!

Sunday, May 15th

This is a picture of the steering wheel of my mom's car, which Nick and I had borrowed for the weekend to go to Madison. On Sunday Morning we were all a bit hungover and Hannah and Armando made a huge breakfast for Nick, Renee and I. Although the ride home was not pleasant, Nick and I stopped at Johnson's Creek Outlet Mall and did some shopping. More like he did some shopping, I didn't buy a thing for once! He slept the rest of the way home though, and I listened to the Sound of Music Soundtrack!

Saturday May 14th, Hannah's Graduation!

Hannah's Graduation Ceremony was at 10AM in Madison, and since Nick and I accidentally stayed out so late Friday night, it made the ride up a little rough. It was pretty fun, we would alternate being nauseous and rolling down the windows. But we made it in plenty of time and you can hardly tell here, but I was really excited that the shirt I bought him coordinated so well with my dress. After the ceremony Hannah's Aunt threw her a big party at her house in Sun Prarie. This was the first time Nick met Hannah's boyfriend Armando and they got along famously. We also met Hannah's friends from high school Andrea and Josh, who live in Milwaukee, and Armando's friends Paki, Stu and Stu's wife Emily. Andrea is joining our book club and Emily is also diabetic with an insulin pump AND 7 months pregnant! After the party we all went out downtown, and once again had a lot to drink.

Friday May 13th, 2011

Friday night everyone got together at Danny Haskell's since Amanda, Melissa and Nicole were in town for Amanda's Bridal Shower the next day. Things got a little crazy by the end of the night, and I ended up staying out too late.

Thursday May 12th, 2011

Today after work I hung out with Brittany and her two girls, Payton (4) and Kylee (23 months), and her nephew Bryson, who just turned 1!We all went out to ice cream at Culvers and Nicole was in town for Amanda's Bridal Shower on Saturday, so she slept over. The girls had a fun time playing with Nicole's motorcycle helmet on the way to ice cream!
