Monday June 6th 2011

Damn you Muskego Public Library, you have every book imaginable except the one I need for class (and the chelsea handler ones I've been wanting to read that are constantly checked out). My day started well enough, I walked into work at 6AM and gave my boss my two week notice. At 8 AM some kid, excuse me "young man" walked in and my boss told me this was going to be my replacement and to start training him! Geez, way to make me feel irreplaceable! Anyway this kid Joe turned out to be every bit as annoying as the 3 other 19 year old boys who started this summer and followed their lead and proceeded to stalk me by constantly competing with each other in front of me, sitting at my table, talking to me, and worst of all, trying to hug me. (Note: by the time I left my boss and I secretly referred to the whole lot of them as "the wolfpack") At our 9AM break I found a text from my friend Rachel in class asking me if there were any text books we needed for our summer class that night. I opened up my planner to tell her class didn't start for several more weeks and give her the correct date (Joe made a flippant comment about how organized i was for having a planner) when I saw clear as day written down, "Enrollment Management 5-9PM) SHIT- and replied to Joe quite bitchily clearly I'm not because I didn't know I had class tonight!Which meant I had to go straight from work to school and Nick was going to have to watch the birds--alone! He was not a happy camper when I told him but he surprisingly was a good sport and sucked it up, although he informed me we are not watching them again for the rest of the year--to which I agreed and informed him that Jenny already asked me to watch them when she is in the hospital having the baby, in January LOL. I guess that baby better not come early! Back to the point, my professor assigned this book to have read by Thursday with an accompanying paper due called The Purple Cow, which turned out to be the hardest book ever to find. I called and went to every bookstore and library I could think of and finally had to reserve the last one up at Mayfair. In retrospect, that was the biggest waste of $25 in my life. I should have just sat in the store and read the first 10 pages, it was all I needed to write my paper.

Our third day with the birds. Nick and I woke up slightly hungover (and majorly sore) to Hannah's phone call that she was almost there. She had been in Milwaukee for her friend Andrea's bachelorette party and wanted to meet up. We tried to go to Hanley's, but low and be hold they are closed on Sunday so ended up at George Webbs. Hannah had never been there before but I believe she thoroughly enjoyed her meal. After that we all spent about $60 each on things we didn't need at Target. Hannah went back on her merry way to Madison and Nick left to go see some superhero movie or something with Eric, which left me alone with the birds. Never. Again. A two bird to one person ratio is just not realistic for these girls. I was so grateful when Nick got back, and to make it up to me we watched a marathon of "Sister Wives", during which every commercial break he informed me that he hates every show TLC makes, over and over and over. . which is funny because I love just about every show TLC makes, huh.

Today was a busy day! Nick and I were still house-sitting so we decided to take advantage of the nice park right by Jenny and Mikes new condo. We grabbed tennis rackets and played for a while on their courts and then took a walk through the park. It was so hot out, and it has been forever since I played tennis, or did any type of strenuous physical activity really, that after about 35 min of playing I went to hit the ball and the racket flew right out of my hand. Nick looked at me said "alright, I think we're about done" LOL. Then we had Sommer and Logan's Birthday Party. Sommer turned three (her real birthday is 6-8-08, she missed 6-7-8 by a day but its still a good trick to remember her bday) and Logan turned one in March. They had a jumpy that I was in for what felt like hours and Nick and I played seriously close to 10 games of volleyball with Renee's Family. As you can image neither of us could move in the morning. The party was so much fun, Nick and I were the last to leave and it was after 1AM! We got Sommer a scooter, a giraffe dress with matching sunglasses, and this sweet electronic bowling game that has automatic ball return and pin reset! We had given logan his gift on his real birthday, it was a miniature lovesac couch-it was sooo cute! Some of the older boys were in the jumpy and found out if you run all at once to the same side they could rip the stakes out of the ground and tip it over, which they did then over and over and over and over, until Darlene lost it and went apeshit on them. Even uncle Dan commented to me on monday how bad she yelled at them, she doesn't deal well with misbehaving children. Renee's oldest sister Carmen got Sommer the most adorable mickey mouse shoes for her birthday, and she loved them, put them on and wore them all night. The day was filled with lots of memories and I hope this blog will help me remember them as the years pass.

Tonight was Nick and my first night housesitting for Jenny and Mike and watching Raj and Sicily. We were trying to decide what to eat for dinner and Nick pulls this tiny box of frozen lasagna out of the freezer and says "how bout this" I was laughing so hard because I could have ate that whole thing myself and still been hungry and he really honest to god thought that was going to be enough for both of us. Needless to say we made mini cheese ravioli.

Tonight was also the night I was offered a job as a career services representative at Sanford Brown College!! I accepted!

I FOUND IT :)
I had a picture of the air/vacuum pump from the gas station on Janseville because on this night I had to fill up Roxy's tires. I don't know what happened to the picture- I will post later if I find it back. Her back left only had 12 PSI -whoops, it brought me back to the days in Madison before I got new tires when I had to fill them up just about once a week.

Mom and I did some more Rummaging tonight and hit the Baby Jackpot! We spent almost $100, but think of how much we saved if we would have bought it new! I think we freaked Mike out a little bit when we brought it over to their house. It's the first real baby stuff they have. Hannah also got her first tattoo today which I am jealous of. I think I'm going to get mine filled in because there are some spots where it peeled after I initially got it done, but I'm scared because I remember when Nicole Ward got hers touched up and she said it hurt way worse than when she first got it done. We will see, I keep saying I'm going to do all these things . . .

After Nick and I worked out today I took a shower and today was the first day I was able to actually use my foot scrubber. Jenny bought it for me a couple of months ago because I adore "as seen on tv" products. She made the same mistake I did a few years ago with my "wonder hangers". It says get one free, but then they charge you like 20 bucks for shipping on each! At least we didn't buy $100 worth of two dollar bills like someone, cough, cough, Nick! This thing tickles sooo much, but I've been building up my tolerance for it and now it feels so relaxing.
